The nice thing about my trip to D.C. is that we didn't drive all that much. No, that's not a horrible thing. Driving in D.C. is a nightmare, and once you arrive by Metro to whatever part of town you want to spend the day in, you walk everywhere. This walking in-between places, particularly in areas like Old Town Alexandria and Georgetown, is great, because in addition to exercise and "getting the full experience", you get to see more awesome cars. A ton of them. For starters, we have this super clean 1965 Buick Riviera. One of my absolute favorites.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Saab 9-3 Aero Wagon, more common on the east coast, but a true rarity in the midwest.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Just as we left Great Falls National Park (which I highly recommend) this RS7 showed up. Talking of cars that look better in person than in photos, I never cared for all the fins and spoilers and vents when I saw them online, but they really work in person.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

While our hosts may have been as far from car people as you can get, the same can't be said for some of their neighbors, like the guy with the E46 M3 CS. I believe it falls one step below the forbidden CSL.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Or the person with the awesome tangerine FiST.

Kinja'd!!!

Or the family with the C6 Z06 'Vette and Challenger R/T.

Kinja'd!!!

Along the same street as this Grand Wagoneer was a blue '57 Bel Air, a W220 S600, an E60 M5, and a Triumph Spitfire. Unfortunately I couldn't get pictures because I was in a damn car!

Kinja'd!!!

Mmmm V8 Quattro wagon.

Kinja'd!!!

From our monuments bike tour (on which we saw the Presidential motorcade), a 968!

And an Austin-Healy Sprite MkII.

Ooh look! A Panther!

Kinja'd!!!

CLA45 AMG. What a sound.

Kinja'd!!!

'86 Cougar based "Tiffany Classic", or Tiffany the Cougar if you prefer.

Kinja'd!!!

Cruising the concrete jungle.

Kinja'd!!!

Not only was this restaurant particularly good, the parking lot contained this lovely blue M5,

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Another V8 S4, with manual Cayman friend,

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

and an SL550 in the same great color as the M5, which I didn't bother with a picture of. Meanwhile at Harper's Ferry (another great stop) we have a Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus, which is apparently fairly rare and the top Satellite model. This one was mint and had the Hurst pistol grip shifter.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Another east coast/Colorado commodity that I rarely see in the Nebraska, the VW Eurovan.

Kinja'd!!!

Is this a dressed-up base 911?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

E46 M3s were a dime a dozen.

Kinja'd!!!

I get to hand out another creativity award. Yes, it says "AUDI A4".

Kinja'd!!!

Not bad for a picture though a dirty train window.

Kinja'd!!!

I like this color too, but I dunno if it's what I'd go for.

Kinja'd!!!

This camera, lights, and laser-ladened Excursion is apparently a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

And lastly, because this is D.C., a diplomatic car. Specifically, the car of the Singaporean diplomat to the U.S.

Kinja'd!!!

*Note: It would appear that my new phone's camera is going the way of the old one. Good job not fixing a major design flaw, HTC. Because I take a lot of pictures, I will not be buying another HTC One, or keeping this one any longer than I have to. Shame, it's an awesome phone otherwise.

Think thats a 1965 Riviera. The only year of the Clamshell lights. Also on the HTC the cameras are pretty good, have a HTC DNA, and are way better that Motorola but still lag a bit behind the rest in terms of longevity and daily use. Great phones other wise

A.k.a.

"Buncha people in DC got some money."

(I'm from DC but no longer live there. My parents have 2 houses. My dad drives a 9-3 Aero convertible.

I on the other hand live in Wisconsin live in a townhouse with a 1-car garage and have a 135is and Hemi Grand Cherokee. Guess you can take the guy out of DC but can't take the DC out of the guy.)

I honestly have no clue, I don't really spend that much time in DC so that explains it. Every time I go to National Harbor or Old Town Alexandria I do see something normally.

That unicorn Saab was right in front of the Watergate apartments which has a pretty interesting history involving Richard Nixon and the DOD. I suggest you take a read.

Also, that Riviera looks like it was possibly in Old Town?

1. I am familiar with Watergate, and took several pictures of the building from the Kennedy Center where we were.

2. Yes, the Riv was in old town.

Nice, nice. It's preeeeety cool. An episode of Futurama actually had made a recreation of it from the future.

I must find that Riv though. There's also this sexy DD'd '56 blue on white Bel Air towards the outskirts. Mhmmmm-mmm.

I actually think it might be. Forget the street it's on though. Sorta in the same area as that cobblestone street that I mistakenly drove my lowered A4 down once.

I think it's on one of the "Royalty" streets (King, Prince, Queen, Duke, etc).

Sounds 'bout right. There's a white 944 right across the street from it also.

Again, I really spend no time in Old Town so I'm not caught up on my street names as much as I probably should me for somebody who lives relatively close. I'm thinking of moving to the boonies though.

Fahck, you got me beat. I started to look near Prince but couldn't quite find it.

And shit, you're right it is a '57. Tailfins are a dead giveaway.

Amazingly, I just googled my problem, and for the first time in the history of the internet, I got a common diagnosis with a super-simple do-it-yourself solution.

Toothpaste. I just tried it. It worked. Holy fuck.
